Valentines Greetings / January 5, 2019 / Lauri Cooke
Visitors worldwide pay annual subscriptions to her site especially for ecards featuring her beloved chocolate Labrador-Springer spaniel mix Chudleigh. He stars in such Valentine offerings as "Special Delivery" in which the pooch watches with growing despondence as a bird pulls from a mailbox a flurry of cards none of them for him until another loving dog arrives carrying a personal Valentine card. Still other Lawson options include non-canine creations like "Bubble Bath" in which a playful bird pops the cork on a bottle of pink Champagne then splashes in the bubbly-filled glass; and "Valentine Waltz" featuring a procession of nine different flowers whole initials form the word "V-A-L-E-N-T-I-N-E" while the blossoms form heart. The effects are tasteful and unique with a typically British country charm.
Each year on the same day in mid February (the 14th) candy is given to loved ones as a symbol of our love and commitment. There are thousands of candymakers across the country that hit high gear in the early weeks of the year to meet the incredible demands of candy lovers. Shops and stores offer big red hearts filled with a variety of sugar filled delicacies nuts and sweets nesting in tiny little organdy bags or just plain old candy bars; it doesnt matter as it is given with love. Thats right the holiday is all about love. It is the lovers holiday. This is the time of year for sweethearts to enthrall their honeys with words of devotion and gifts of sweets. The supplies of goodies are unlimited and the candies nestled in elaborate beribboned boxes are like gold. For some reason perhaps the value of the cocoa and chocolate products in previous centuries made the gift of candy a real prize. So when a young suitor showed up to his girls house with candy under his arm the object of his affections knew she was highly prized.
Voltaire voiced a distinguished saying which is love is a canvas furnished by nature and embroidered by imagination. Many people continue to analyze the complexity of the simple saying and it gets many thinking and maybe affirming that it feels true. Other Valentine greeting card sayings that are very popular are as follows. A popular one by Fred Jacob is that love is like fine wine and it gets better with age. Another on that I found especially interesting is by Diane Ackerman which goes like this everyone admits that love is wonderful yet no one agrees on what it is. These are sayings that are truly food for thought. There are so many others that will amaze you while others will crack you up with laughter. Valentine and love are really synonymous and most sayings will be pegged on love.
