Fathers Day Sayings

Fathers Day / March 4, 2019 / Alta Gentry.

He would never mention it. He didnt want thanks. He knew wed appreciate it and love him all the more. Dad always worried about his girls. One time he stayed on the phone with one of my sisters while she used a pressure cooker to can. He was worried shed somehow blow it up. He even told her to put her baby outside in the playpen while she was using the pressure cooker! Yes my Dad was a quiet man. He loved to read he loved to watch the Brooklyn Dodgers on TV he loved to have his girls do easy chores for him and he loved to spend time with his family and have a grand (simple) meal prepared for him. His wife - and his girls - could cook.

This is how we showed our love not just on Fathers Day but throughout the year. We made Fathers Day special by simply telling him how much we loved him and by cooking him anything he wanted. Remembering and thanking your father on Fathers Day need not be difficult and probably doesnt need to include buying a tie. But dont forget the old saying "The way to a mans heart is through his stomach." Often it is true. Surprise your Dad or your Grand Dad or your husband with some culinary delights and his favorite beverage or two. And barbecuing is often a hit for Dads day if the weather is good.

I think he thought wed "break." But Dad would do the quiet things with us like telling stories about far away places where we could raise giant cabbages hunt for gold or drill for oil. His stories were exciting and sometimes very funny - at least to his four daughters. Wed fall to sleep at night thinking about going on adventures with Dad. We never knew what to buy for Dad on Fathers Day. Of course wed ask but his answer was always the same. "I have everything a Father could want including all the ties I can ever use." Ties were "out." What was left? Then we caught on to what Dad really liked not just on Fathers Day but on days whenever he needed something on wanted something.

Plan a Fathers Day fishing trip. Rent a boat pack the fishing gear and a lunch and head out onto the water for the occasion. If you can afford it rent a cottage or cabin for the weekend so that dad can relax and enjoy the outdoors while still having the comforts of home. If you are planning a wilderness retreat keep in mind that it shouldnt be one that will be filled with work for dad. He shouldnt have to spend Fathers Day lugging camping gear when he should be relaxing. We all know when is Fathers Day right? Fathers Day in the U.S. Canada and the U.K falls on June 21 in 2009 on June 20 in 2010 and on June 19 in 2011. Now you know so dont wait until the last moment to buy a gift or plan a surprise for your special dad. If you do then one of two things will happen. Youll spend too much money or youll get a gift that youll regret. While ties have always been the gold standard for Fathers Day times have changed and dads are a lot hipper which is good news for dad and for you! This widens the Fathers Day gift playing field.

Yet we indulge ourselves into putting in a futile effort to be emotive and effusive enough to make our way to the bottom of someones heart. Gift is a medium through which we often want to showcase our love and respect for the others. But instead of flaunting our riches and spendthrift nature we should bask in pleasure while gifting the others. When it comes to buying a fathers day gift you should take a pick that suits to his taste. Surely you will find a galaxy of beautiful items in the market but it is you who have to make a choice which one to pick up. My dad is my hero - almost all of us murmur this slogan times and again.
