Be it a spouse a friend or a parent we show our loved ones how much they mean to us by delivering them with sentimental cards flowers candy and gifts. It is the one day of the year when all out romanticism - in all its forms - is expected and accepted. When it comes to Valentines Day we all seem to have our own ways of celebrating. For some that means a special dinner at a restaurant. For others it means tickets to a show. And for still others it means a special Valentines Day treat that we wait for all year long. Valentine cookies are here just prior to and on February 14th - and gone the day after. So for many buying or making these sweet treats are part of their celebration of love. Valentine cookies come in all shapes sizes and flavors.
Serve a wide variety of flavored decaffeinated teas as well as an assortment of flavored hot chocolate. Use tissue paper and pipe cleaners to create vases full of flowers for the tables centerpiece. You can also cut out hearts from paper and use the hearts as flower peddles glued to Popsicle sticks. Additional Valentines day decorations for the table include creating confetti like hearts using a paper punch and several different colors of paper or remnants from wrapping paper. Use paper heart doilies throughout the table presentation underneath the clear glass servers. Keep in mind the foods you serve can also act as the Valentines day decorations. For example serve a variety of foiled candies in clear dishes place a variety of cookies out in clear glass bowls (arrange them so the hearts are overlapping each other) and fill wine glasses with red white and pink hard candies like M&Ms or lifesavers.
Head to the candy aisle and have fun! Allow each party guest to frost their cupcakes themselves and add their own decoration. Consider picking up some "to go" boxes so guests can take home extra cupcakes to enjoy when they return home. Use hearts cut from pieces of construction paper punch a heart shaped hole in the top string a piece of ribbon through each before filling each box with cupcakes. Write the name of each party guest on to the heart so their boxes dont get mixed up with someone elses by mistake. This box display also acts as yet another Valentines day decoration opportunity for the party. Valentines Decorations make a great accent during that special time of year and you can create these easy decorations for the home or the classroom.
