Talk to your kids about the planning process as well as any Valentines day decorations you need help creating. Consider adding a tea party type element into these plans if this is a girls party. You can achieve this type of party on a budget by visiting odd lots stores Goodwill yard sales and antique stores for teacups a teapot and all the linens. Consider choosing items that dont match because when placed on the table with the rest of the Valentines day decorations the look will be interesting and exciting for the party goers.
1. Make a statement to anyone who walks into the room with a huge banner that is hung on the wall or across the doorway. Nothing says "Happy Valentines Day!" like a Valentines banner 2. Use lots of different sized Mylar balloons all over the place. Have them hanging from the ceiling stuck to walls and even randomly on tables and chairs. 3. Have some helium balloons floating around too. Not only are they going to be mostly on the ceiling but they are fun to bat around turning into impromptu volleyball games from time to time. 4. Have paper hearts stuck everywhere. Tabletops chairs walls and even stuck on the ceiling. You can either buy premade ones or cut them out of construction paper. 5. Stuffed Valentines heart pillows and boxes of candy makes great party favors.
They are made with salt dough and make great sculptures to have as keepsakes. Youll need: o 2 cups of plain flour o 1 cup of salt o 1 cup of water o oven o acrylic paint o knife o board o rolling pin o paintbrushes o baking tray o pen pencil or stylus Mix the two cups of flour into a bowl with one cup of salt and one cup of water with your hands until the dough is entirely moistened and sticks together. It should be like pizza dough easy to mold. Youll see the little grains of salt in the dough dont worry thats what it should look like. Roll out the dough into a sheet about a quarter of an inch thick. Then use your stylus pen or pencil to cut out a heart shape. Set this aside and roll out the dough again to cut out some smaller heart shapes. Once you have about three heart shapes in decreasing size you can press one on top of the other. Use a little water between the layers to act as a glue or paste.
