Fathers Day / March 5, 2019 / Hester Higgins.
Fathers Day is also an opportunity to reflect on the things were sure wed like to do differently. Looking to improve and do a better job be determined not to repeat the mistakes that were made with us is all part of growing up and aiming to be the best we can be when we come to parent our own children. At the end of the party give the Fathers Day sweets to him. On Fathers Day dont let your father do some house works. If he heads to his work room or garage prevent him! Ask what hes planning to do and if you can handle it - do it for him instead. Treat him like a king on this very special day. Spend more time with him. Most days of the week he is out working his butt off for the family. Dedicate the entire Sunday spending time with him. Watch his favorite sports with him ask him to tell you stories or tell him yours instead. Before you call it a day give him a big hug and some sweets.
Fathers day is an occasion when all of you can get together and celebrate the occasion by either going for an outing or celebrating inside the home with things he likes. If it is movies that interest him buy a set of DVDs of the latest films and watch the films along with him. This will certainly make him happy. Among the many fathers day gifts that are there in the market buying tickets for a hot air balloon ride or skydiving would mean a lot to him if he has been a lover of action and adventure sports. If you father has been a fishing fan buy him a complete fishing set and make sure that you go along with him for fishing on this fathers day.
He taught us through "trickery." My father would "trick" us into doing chores he thought we may not want to do such as "Girls dont you dare polish my shoes." Being daring girls - wed polish his shoes. It was Dads game but we were always willing players. Dad enjoyed simple things like this and he appreciated having these chores done. He was such a kind man that he found his pleasure not in receiving but in giving. This was one of the greatest lessons we all learned from Dad. When his girls grew up and left the nest food would appear in our cupboards from "no where." Money would be found in our purses mysteriously but always after a visit from Dad.
Everyone makes a mountain out of Mothers Day and rightly so. But without Dads lets face it we wouldnt exist. Fathers Day falls on 19th June this year so how about using this day to tell your Dad what a man he is? Fathers Day gifts are all part of the equation but year in year out you may make excuses about what you "meant" to get your Dad. But something always gets in the way and suddenly its Fathers Day and you have nothing... not even an excuse. Well NOT THIS YEAR! At least this time you can give your Dad something hell remember. Forever. But first heres some advice on what NOT to get him.
