Valentines Presents / January 11, 2019 / Eve Owen
Of course choosing the right Valentines presents for him and her is important. But if you want a night of romance its just as important to get the movie right on this night of love. Because if you dont you can bet your bottom dollar you wont be getting that "loving feeling." Snuggling up with your sweetheart eating chocolates and sipping wine wont be part of the programme. Anyone can run out and rent a romantic film starring Julia Roberts for Valentines Day. Anyone can stream the latest passion-infused offering from Kate Hudson - or Jennifer Aniston or Drew Barrymore. Anyone can immerse themselves in Pretty Woman Bridget Joness Diary or Romeo and Juliet. But it requires real bottle to sit down with that special lady or gent in your life and take one of these hugely unpleasant choices.
So without further ado here are the six most inappropriate movies to watch with someone you love on Valentines Day... 6. Titanic (1997). Do each other a favour. Never see a film about two folks who are far more in love than you and your Valentine will ever be. Its just uncomfortable. Even more uncomfortable than forgetting to give your sweethearts the Valentines Day presents! 5. Deep Blue Sea (1999). This is an extremely bad movie to watch on Valentines Day because of its focus on disastrous romances not to mention its generally depressing mood onscreen. It definitely doesnt create a cheerful atmosphere for the thrumming of heartstrings afterwards. And you may well find yourselves rooting for the sharks to eat the cast.
If they value the love you feel for them above all else then a sentimental gift is by far the better choice: something of the earth perhaps; a gift that will last forever just as the love you feel will endure for eternity. A Valentines gift need not cost a fortune and no true Valentine would expect you to pay out cash you can ill afford on their behalf. A Valentines gift should be a token of everything you feel about your Valentine: a connection; a unique symbol of affection and love; that piece of love and friendship in your pocket that reminds you to stay positive because you know how much you are loved. A gift that can be shared is also a great gift - one for me and one for you. Simple. Loving. Effective. Coming up with unique or personalised Valentine gift ideas can be incredibly difficult what with all the high street stores trying to sell you the generic Valentines presents they cart out every year such as chocolates flowers or teddy bears holding a heart.
