Theres no question how much children love parties and thats not just limited to birthday parties and Halloween parties. Throwing Valentines day parties is a fun way to bring in opportunities for celebration additional Valentines day decorations and enjoying delicious foods. Talk to your kids about the planning process as well as any Valentines day decorations you need help creating. Consider adding a tea party type element into these plans if this is a girls party. Take sheets of plain white paper and cut them into snowflakes using all different patterns (use your imagination). Place the hearts over the snowflakes and trace around the edges. Cut the snowflake so it fits over the heart and glue them together. You could also trim the snowflake so it is slightly smaller to give the heart a framed look. Hang the hearts throughout your home on mirrors on glassed over wall hangings and from lighting. Project Idea #3 Create a simple paper chain using red pink and white. Alternate the colors in a pattern that pleases you. Theres no right or wrong way to do this. Hang this with additional Valentines day decorations like the paper hearts mentioned above. Heart shaped cookies can be frosted in pinks and reds and then use other colors for sprinkles on them. Place on a heart shaped tray. Chocolate is a very appropriate option and can be purchased or made in heart shapes. Use crystal dishes or plain white china for your treats. For the kids get out paper cups filled with candy hearts mini marshmallows and chocolate chips. For the grown ups you can think about chocolate mousse and whipped cream. There are so many options for creating Valentine decorations from a wide variety of materials. However sometimes all thats on hand are some pieces of construction paper and plain white sheets of paper.
