St Patricks Day Gifts / February 16, 2019 / Cristina Pennington
Daily we are reminded about our environment and the importance of recycling reusing and reducing everything we use. Florists and restaurants are now getting on board with this mantra as well. Recently I have noticed various restaurants using succulent plants as table decorations on their dining room tables. Bar arrangements and front desk floral arrangements are incorporating succulents as well. According to Sherene Hulugalle the idea of using succulent plants for table decorations is that once the flowers fade the succulents can be re-planted and will keep growing.
Remember you are going for romance here so do plan well. Step 3. Consider the atmosphere. Of course you will want a candlelit dinner but you can do much more especially on St. Patricks Day. Consider selecting romantic Irish folk music lighting a fire if the weather cooperates and even clearing some space for close dancing. Step 4. Extras. Depending on where you are in your relationship you might want to plan a few extras. If retiring behind closed doors is likely on tap you can prepare a special surprise in here as well. Consider green silk sheets lots of candles and even sprinkling a path with silk rose petals or lucky four-leaf clover designs.
The Irish aren t much like the people that Irish Americans pretend to be on St Patricks Day. But please don t take our stereotypes away. We love them so. Descendents of those who immigrated during the Irish potato famines of the 18th and 19th century generally only have St Patricks Day to remind them of those long ago ancestral ties. We may not have any real understanding of the country at all. Still we must beg pardon of the modern Irish citizenry and continue our traditions. So with tongue in cheek every American who likes a mid-March excuse to celebrate professes to be partly of Irish ancestry.
